Kapilasana (Pose Named After the Sage, Kapila) is a continuation of Buddhasana. This yoga pose registers as 22* on BKS Iyengar’s 60* scale of difficulty in Light on Yoga.
As a continuation of Buddhasana, Kapilasana makes the challenges of Buddhasana even more apparent. The difficulty of wrapping your arms around your left leg increases as you attempt to fold forward. As I mentioned yesterday in the Buddhasana post, you really need to drop your left leg onto your shoulderblades rather than onto your neck in order to make this happen. I’m not quite there yet!
Have any of you tried this pose? What are your experiences?
