Therese is not only a wonderful teacher, but a dear friend of mine. The levity and brightness she brings to her conversations and her classes lights up a room. In fact, that’s exactly what happened in yesterday’s class.
Eye of the Tigress is a unique yoga practice. We practice for 2.5 hours, and explore advanced poses we don’t typically move into during a standard public classes. The practice is deeply challenging and, honestly, can be a bit intimidating at first glance!
Therese has an incredible ability to lighten the atmosphere and dispel the fears that naturally arise in a yoga practice. She creates space for each of us to honestly voice our feelings about the challenges we face on our mats. She acknowledges our fears and frustrations, and celebrates every one of our achievements. When someone finds new depth in a pose that’s eluded them before, she makes a point of highlighting their victory! Therese turns a deeply challenging class into a celebration of our unique gifts.
Each person that left Tigress practice yesterday left with a huge smile on their face. Therese created an atmosphere of fierce fun that brightened our bodies and uplifted our hearts.
When has the power of a lighthearted atmosphere lifted you to new heights on your mat?
If you’ve had the pleasure of taking class with Therese, share the love!
